The 5-week course covers everything the emerging actor needs to know as they enter the world of auditioning to book roles!

Class 1: IN STUDIO

​

Slating, Camera frames, Commercial Auditions & Cold Reads

Film/TV Industry Terminology & Set Etiquette

 

Class 2: ONLINE

 

Self Tapes

Participants receive sides for their 1st Film/TV Role*

and submit their self tapes for feedback and review.

Receive your notes in a Zoom session

 and perform a 2nd take. (virtual reader provided)

Class 3: ONLINE

​

Zoom Auditions

Participants receive a 2nd Film/TV Role* and a Zoom audition appointment to present with an unseen virtual reader.

Zoom recordings are forwarded for further home review.

 

Class 4: IN STUDIO

 

The Casting Room

Participants receive a 3rd Film/TV Role* to prepare and present in a simulated casting room situation. Receive feedback from an industry professional for a 2nd take.

Class 5: ONLINE

 

The 'Nuts & Bolts' of The BIZ answering all your questions about how to get started as a professional actor.

• Headshots - standard pricing, established versus emerging photographers, 3 essential looks, photo credits 

• Agents - submission essentials, follow up tips, ethical agency directories, scammers & red flags, commissions, contracts, leaving an agent

• Casting Directors - casting breakdowns, casting directors listings, promoting without crossing professional boundaries

• Resumes & Online Profiles -  the ones casting & agents actually use, key questions when self submitting to stay safe & not waste time

• What's Shooting? - the most accurate 'what's shooting' pages to follow & how to use them effectively

• Social Media Do's & Don'ts

• Film/TV Glossary

*All ROLES are AUTHENTIC sides sourced from productions

that have recently shot in Toronto. These include American feature films and US Network/Streaming service productions.

​

During all audition experiences, participants receive direction to adjust their performance.

Further feedback & tips are offered.

Participants are sent ALL their recorded auditions to download & keep!
